Manuscripts
The Alexander Z. Kruse papers contain documents relating to Kruse's career as an artist, art critic, and author. The time frame covered is 1890 to 1975 with the bulk of the material originating from the 1930s to 1960s. The material is arranged by functional series and includes: literary manuscripts and notebooks; correspondence; photographic materials--photographs and slides; ephemera--clippings, catalogs, and biographical material; and books. The majority of the collection is in its original format with a few being photocopies. The photographic materials are in good condition. However, much of the ephemera (especially the newspaper clippings) is extremely fragile. Most of the clippings are from Kruse's columns with the Brooklyn Eagle and the New York Post.

Manuscripts
This collection contains correspondence (Parts 1 and 2), which has been grouped together alphabetically by correspondent. The correspondence includes letters from a variety of astronomers from around the world as well as general astronomy questions from members of the public. The correspondence also deals with women in astronomy and in the Beverly T. Lynds folder is a list of women members of the Astronomical Association of America. Most of the letters written by Swope are retained copies. The arrangement of her astronomical working papers, however, mirrors that of the collection when it was obtained by the Huntington. The folder titles for the working papers are, for the most part, those of Henrietta Swope herself. The majority of the working papers deal with Swope's research and work on the Milky Way, M31 (Andromeda Galaxy), variable stars, cepheids, Magellanic Clouds, and the Draco System (these folders include notes, photographs and charts.) There are also four black and white photographs of Swope receiving the Annie Jump Cannon Prize in 1968 and several miscellaneous manuscripts, reprints, articles by Swope and others, journals, bulletins, notes, pieces of ephemera and several hundred IBM cards. This collection consists of material created by and related to The Planetary Society since its beginning in 1980 and up to 2016. It contains Board of Directors correspondence, memorandums, and meeting minutes; material related to public relations, events, fundraising and membership; copies of The Planetary Report (not a complete set); NASA photo files; material related to the Solar Sail and the Mars Rover program; NASA and space exploration in general; Apollo reports; the Hubble Telescope; and US and Russian cooperation in space (including Planetary Society staff's trips to Russia). The collection also contains photographs and negatives; video cassette tapes and film; clippings; T-shirts, posters, badges, stickers, memorabilia; artwork; and miscellaneous material. There is material both about and by: Carl Sagan (including his 265-page curriculum vitae), Bruce Murray, Louis Friedman, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Buzz Aldrin. There is artwork by space artists Ron Miller, Michael W. Carroll and Mark Paternostro among others.
