Description
This anonymous and undated notebook may have been compiled to study the issue of pluralism in the Church of England. It lists in alphabetical order all of the beneficed clergy in the diocese of Norwich with their benefices and residences, followed by all curates, their curacies, and residences. There are many cancelations and interlinear additions in other hands. Penciled summaries on the front flyleaves record 646 beneficed clergymen, 248 of whom were pluralits, and 215 curates. A second note gives higher figures for July 10, 1839.
