This instructional catalog is 88 pages in length, and contains illustrated and textual instructions for creating lampshades, candle shades, flowers, doll dresses, picture frames and dinner napkins, as well as supplies needed for each project, with prices. Also included, mounted to p. 3, are tissue paper samples, with the company's full range of colors. The illustrated front cover features a lamp with an elaborate lampshade made from crepe paper; a dressing table "draped with Dennison's Imported Crepe Paper" is on the back cover. The inside front cover is a listing of the company's colored crepe paper in stock, and the last page and the inside of the back cover are manufacturer's advertisements for Dennison's Tissue Paper Outfits.

    One pamphlet/catalog, copyright 1927, entitled Creative Expression in Design, published by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Massachusetts. This pamphlet is 32 numbered pages in length, is illustrated with color reproductions of artwork, and includes two additional unnumbered plates of sample illustrations on colored paper. Roughly the first half of the booklet is informational and instructional, the second half serves as an illustrated catalog of a wide variety of artist's materials, including crayons, brushes, paper and paints. A color image of a woman wearing a headdress against a green background graces the front cover. "Cover design by Margaret Voight, a pupil of Polytechnic High School, San Francisco" is printed on the inside front cover. "Copyright, 1927, by Milton Bradley Company, Springfield, Mass." is also printed inside the front cover. The inside back cover and the back cover itself are blank. The text of the booklet emphasizes creativity in design, especially in relation to poster design. The original brown paper envelope accompanies the pamphlet.

This book is 64 unnumbered pages in length, and provides step-by-step instructions for drawing horses and similar animals, such as mules and donkeys. All of the images are in black and white, and most pages contain at least some instructional text. The front cover is printed in brown on green paper; it features several images below the title from within the book. The imagery on the back cover is a duplicate of the front cover. "$1.00" is printed in the lower right-hand corner of the front and back covers. The inside of the front cover is blank; the inside of the back cover is a publisher's advertisement for "Pitman Art Series by Victor Perard." Laid inside the front cover are two newspaper clippings, dated 1951 and 1947 respectively.

This pamphlet is 16 numbered pages in length, including the back cover. The pamphlet discusses the use of color in the classroom, the importance of color in learning about art , and how to create art. The front cover is illustrated with a reproduction of a still life drawing of a platter and a vase. A publisher's statement regarding the intended use of the booklet is printed on the back cover. The booklet is illustrated with 6 color reproductions of images using colored pencils and crayons; much of the text discusses each of the images. "The Sparrell Print, Boston" is printed at the bottom inside the back cover.

This pamphlet is 32 numbered pages in length and advertises Diamond Tints & Dyes. It is illustrated with color images of the wide variety of uses for these products, including clothes, curtains, upholstery, towels, lingerie, etc. The front cover features an image of a woman in a pink dress with a multicolored peacock-like flourish who is appraising herself in front of a mirror . This vibrant image is set against a black background; the title is within a banner at the top. The back cover is black, with a diamond-shaped center of nine colored components. "Copyright 1937 Wells and Richardson Company, Incorporated, Made and printed in U.S.A." is printed on the inside of the front cover. A representation of an "Award of Honor to Diamond Tints & Dyes for Distinguished Service at the South Pole" is featured inside the back cover. Both an order form and a letter from the company addressed to Mabel Spofford are laid in the pamphlet.

    One painting book entitled Flower Studies: A Painting Book, published by McLoughlin Bros., New York, copyright 1902. The front cover features poppies bordered by other flowers. On the back cover in the lower right-hand corner appears the company's trademark and "No. 84 1/2." The title page is entitled Object Painting Book. The inside front cover depicts a mock palette of colors--red, green, yellow, blue and purple--which were meant to be used with the book, as explained in the instructions printed on the inside of the back cover. Six color images, including the cover and title page, are represented. Four of these within the book mirror four identical images printed only in outline. None of the outlined images have been filled in. On the upper edge of the title page, in pen, is the name "Catherine P. Stafford" and below that, in pencil, "$4.50". On the back inside cover, also in pen, is the same name--"Catherine P. Stafford".
